Please contact Public Safety IMMEDIATELY if you have lost your room key/FOB. If an electronic access fob is lost or stolen Public Safety must deactivate the FOB before replacing the FOB.
*There is a fee associated to replace any key or electronic FOB.

Please contact Public Safety IMMEDIATELY if:
- You believe there is a security threat involved with the loss or if you need a replacement key/FOB right away. If an electronic access FOB is lost or stolen Public Safety must deactivate the FOB before replacing the FOB.
Faculty and Staff ONLY….Please Note: If there is NO immediate security threat and you need to replace a Physical Key (s) ONLY! Please follow the lost key SOP listed below.
- The Department Head / Supervisor must be notified and sent a notification, e-mail is okay,
to the Director of Public Safety: Jeffrey Troxell, (troxellj@lafayette.edu) copies to the
Director of Facilities Operations: Scott Kennedy (kennedsc@lafayette.edu) and the Access
Control Office: Roy Bollinger, Ken Murray, Steve Kauth, Nate Breiner
(accesscontroloffice@lafayette.edu).
- In the notification, please tell us what is missing, keys numbers if known, and what areas /
building and room numbers are affected.
- Tell us the date and circumstances surrounding their loss.
- Please advise us whether or not you believe there is a security threat involved with the loss,
and what action you believe should be taken.
- If the person needs replacement key(s) and or an access fob to perform their duties, please
ask that they be replaced ASAP.
- If an electronic access fob is lost or stolen, it must be reported ASAP to Public Safety for
deactivation/replacement. If it’s the only thing that is missing, no further steps need to be
taken!
